Bangladesh, June 26 -- Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said on Tuesday dope test is going to be made compulsory for government jobs.

The decision has been approved in principal by the Cabinet, he told the media at the ministry on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

"Action will be taken against government officials who are drug addicts. We're introducing dope test for government job-seekers," he said.

If drug is found in the blood sample of an aspirant, then the government "might cancel his application", the minister said.

Replying to a question, he said that 'dope test' will be applicable for all. "The Prime Minister has given her approval. The decision will now be implemented in phases.
