Dhaka, May 21 -- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) adopted a 'zero-tolerance' policy against mob violence in the capital, said Deputy Commissioner of Ramna Division Masud Alam on Wednesday.
Speaking at a press briefing at the DMP Media Centre in the morning, DC Masud made the remarks in response to journalists' queries.
"We have zero tolerance towards any kind of mob formation. Both the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the DMP Commissioner have given strict instructions not to allow any 'mob creation'," he said, reports UNB.
The DC's statement came in the context of a recent incident in Dhanmondi, where a group of people vandalised the residence of one Golam Mostafa on Monday night.
