Dhaka, March 8 -- Bangladesh has urged Uzbekistan to expedite the signing of the proposed Air Services Agreement (ASA) between the two countries to launch direct flights between Dhaka and Tashkent.
The call was made when Bangladesh's Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Dr. Mohammad Monirul Islam, met with Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Transport, Choriyev Jasurbek Ergashevich, at the latter's office in Tashkent on Friday, BSS reports, citing a message received Saturday.
During the meeting, the Bangladesh envoy emphasized that the launch of Uzbekistan Airways on the Dhaka-Tashkent route would be a game-changer in enhancing trade, investment, education, culture, and tourism between the two countries.
