Dhaka, July 8 -- The dengue situation in the country is deteriorating further, as three more people died of the mosquito-borne disease during a 24-hour period until Monday morning, when an additional 492 patients were hospitalised.

However, the situation with Covid-19 appears to be more manageable, with only 11 positive cases reported out of 334 samples diagnosed during the same period.

With the latest dengue cases resulting in fatalities and hospitalizations, the total death toll for this year has reached 48, and the total number of hospitalizations is now at 12,763, according to the daily bulletin issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
