Dhaka, Sept. 8 -- The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has recently begun maintenance dredging of the Karnaphuli River for smooth navigation of the waterway. The aim is to improve the navigation of the port channel as well.

Secretary of the Chittagong Port Authority, Omar Faruk, stated, "The CPA had previously completed the capital dredging of the river. Now, we are continuing with the regular maintenance dredging of the Karnaphuli."

He further explained, "The waterlogging issue in the port city has been resolved by the CPA. We are now implementing drainage works in accordance with new regulations, including drainage inspection and canal control."
