Dhaka, June 1 -- The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) is in talks with different airlines about launching direct international flights from Cox's Bazar Airport, which is expected to begin handling international flights this July.
Among the airlines, Air Arabia, a UAE-based airline, has already expressed its interest in operating direct international flights from the airport, said CAAB Chairman Air-Vice Marshal Md Monjur Kabir Bhuiyan.
However, the final destinations of the flights have not yet been determined, added the CAAB chairman, expressing the hope that it will receive a strong response once the runway is approved for international operations.
