Dhaka, Feb. 17 -- A couple has been killed and their teenage daughter injured after they were run over by a speeding pickup van while crossing the road in Dhaka's Jatrabari.

The incident occurred around 7:00 am on Monday on the road opposite Saddam Market in Mutail, according to Sub-Inspector Md Mahmudul Hasan Irfan of Jatrabari Police Station, according to a bdnews24.com report.

The victims were identified as Abdul Jabbar and his wife Runa Akter. Their 14-year-old daughter Jui Akter suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The family had been living in Demra's Konapara area.
