Dhaka, July 20 -- National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Prof. Dr. Ali Riaz on Sunday said a consensus has been reached among political stakeholders on reinstating the caretaker government system in the country.

"We have all been part of the 14-year-long struggle to bring back the caretaker government system. During today's discussions, we reached an agreement on its restoration," Dr. Riaz said in his opening remarks on the 15th day of the commission's second-phase dialogue with political parties, held at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.

He expressed optimism about finalizing the structure and framework of the system soon, stating, "Not only do we hope for it, we believe it is achievable. Our target is to prepare the 'July Cha...
