Dhaka, June 16 -- A student of Agrani Girls School and College has died after drowning in the pond on the Eden Mohila College campus in Dhaka.
The incident occurred around 10:30 am on Monday when the victim, Sanjida Akter, entered the pond with a friend to learn swimming, according to Lalbagh Police Station chief Mostafa Kamal, according to bdnews24.com.
College staff later rescued her and rushed her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared her dead.
Sanjida was a second-year higher secondary student and lived with her family in Dhaka's Chawkbazar area.
