Dhaka, July 12 -- A crude bomb exploded outside the BNP's central office in Dhaka's Nayapaltan area on Saturday night, according to local media.

The blast occurred around 9:58pm, BNP executive member Abdus Sattar Patwari was quoted as saying.

While no one was hurt, the explosion sparked fear among pedestrians and commuters, who were seen fleeing the area, the daily reported citing witnesses.
