Dhaka, May 24 -- A closed-door meeting of the interim government's Advisory Council is currently underway at the NEC Conference Room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka. The meeting, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus, follows rising political unrest and comes amid speculation over his possible resignation.
All 19 advisers are in attendance, with no other officials present at the meeting. The cabinet secretary and other government officials left the NEC room after Saturday's ECNEC meeting concluded around 12:15 pm.
Professor Yunus is also expected to hold discussions later in the day with leaders of various political parties, including the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami.
