Dhaka, May 28 -- Medical services at the National Institute of Ophthalmology were suspended for several hours after clashes erupted between hospital staff and individuals injured in the July uprising.

The conflict began when the injured accused the hospital of neglect and demanded better treatment. Staff responded by launching a strike over safety concerns after the hospital director was allegedly confined in his office a day earlier. Tensions escalated into physical altercations, prompting intervention from police and security forces. The situation was brought under control by evening.
