Dhaka, Sept. 2 -- The government will soon publish circular for recruitment of approximately 17,000 assistant teachers in the primary schools, according to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (MoPME).

The ministry has formed an eight-member committee for recruiting the government teachers. It issued a notification on Sunday, saying that the committee has been constituted under the Government Primary School Teacher Recruitment Rules 2025.

According to the new rules, 93 per cent of directly recruitable posts in the government primary schools will be filled on merit, while the remaining 7.0 per cent will be reserved under quotas.
