Dhaka, June 7 -- Chattogram City Mayor Shahadat Hossain has said the city has been cleared of waste from Eid-ul-Azha animal sacrifices by 6pm.
On Friday, he said about 10,000 tonnes of waste were removed from the city, reports bdnews24.com.
Shahadat said, "All employees of our cleaning department have worked tirelessly since this morning.
"Since 8am, 4,200 workers operating 369 vehicles including dump trucks, compactors, and pay loaders have been collecting waste around the neighbourhoods.
"The sacrifice sites were cleaned with water and bleaching powder. All sacrificial waste in the city was removed by 6pm."
