Dhaka, Feb. 25 -- Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Ahsan H Mansur said the chances of keeping a few crisis-hit commercial banks afloat are "very slim' despite regulatory efforts.
He said the central bank has been working hard to keep the struggling banks operational by establishing corporate governance there.
"Despite our efforts, it may not be possible [to sustain a few struggling banks]," Mansur observed virtually during a session on 'Macroeconomic Policy and Governance in the Banking Sector' on Wednesday, the final day of a two-day-long conference titled 'Recommendations by the Taskforce on Re-strategising the Economy'.
