Dhaka, May 28 -- Bangladesh Women's Health Coalition, or BWHC, observed Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025 on Wednesday with rallies and awareness sessions in schools, under the theme "Together for a #PeriodFriendlyWorld."
The campaign aimed to promote menstrual health and hygiene among adolescent girls, according to a press release.
Following the events, BWHC staff, schoolteachers and students spoke on the importance of open discussion around menstruation and emphasised proper hygiene practices.
As part of a pilot initiative under the SAAF project, BWCHC also installed waste bins and question boxes, and distributed free sanitary napkins in 10 schools across Sylhet's Sadar and Zakiganj upazilas, Sunamganj's Chhatak upazila, Habiganj's Chunarug...
