Dhaka, July 2 -- The International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Wednesday issued warrants for the arrest of eight people including former MP Saiful Islam in a case filed over burning bodies of six protesters on a van after killing them at Ashulia in Savar on August 5.

A three-member bench of the ICT-2 led by its chairman Justice Nazrul Islam accepted the chargesheet against 16 people in the case and issued the arrest warrants, UNB reports.

Earlier, the prosecution submitted the 173-page chargesheet against 16 people in the case.

Seven accused arrested in the case were produced before the court on Wednesday morning.
