Dhaka, Feb. 27 -- Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, or BSMMU, has scrapped the recruitment of 544 doctors, nurses, and employees at its Super Specialised Hospital in Dhaka.

The decision came after multiple committees were formed to probe allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process, BSMMU Registrar Md Nazrul Islam confirmed, reports

He told bdnews24.com, "The recruitment process began in 2023 under the then vice-chancellor Sharifuddin Ahmed.

"The previous administration formed two probe committees, both of which found evidence of corruption and irregularities.

"Another committee was later formed to cover up the issue."
