Dhaka, Nov. 13 -- Unidentified miscreants set fire to a section of railway tracks in Brahmanbaria early Thursday, disrupting train movement.

The incident occurred around 1:45 am at the Dublar area in Basudeb Union of Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila. Train services on the route were halted for a short period following the fire.

Due to the incident, two Chattogram-bound trains - Turna Nishitha and Bijoy Express - were temporarily stopped at Brahmanbaria Railway Station.

However, train services resumed within about 30 minutes once the fire was brought under control.

Akhaura Railway Junction Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) SM Shafiqul Islam said miscreants had set fire to plastic pipes placed on the tracks.
