Dhaka, Jan. 2 -- The Biman Bangladesh Airlines authorities have decided, in principle, to purchase 14 aircraft from the US aviation giant Boeing.
The decision was taken at the board meeting of the state-run airlines on Tuesday (December 30), according to a statement, issued by General Manager (public relations) of the airline Boshra Islam.
According to the decision, the Biman authorities will place buying orders for four Boeing 737 MAX and 10 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. As per negotiations, Boeing is to deliver the first aircraft in November 2031 and the last one in October 2035, it said.
She further said proposals from both Boeing and European giant manufacturer "Airbus" were placed before the Biman board.
