Dhaka, April 13 -- The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) has cancelled the approval of 10 economic zones (EZs).
The decision was taken during a meeting of Bida governing body at the Chief Adviser's Office in Dhaka on Sunday with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, executive chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida) and Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (Beza), gave the information after the meeting.
As per the decision, five cancelled economic zones are government-owned, and rest five others are privately owned.
