Dhaka, Nov. 22 -- Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay paid tribute to the Liberation War martyrs by placing a wreath at the National Memorial in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, shortly after his arrival for a two-day state visit on Saturday.
After placing the wreath at the memorial's altar, he stood in solemn silence for a few minutes in remembrance of the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War. A contingent from the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and Air Force presented a state salute as a melancholic tune played on the bugles.
