Dhaka, Feb. 10 -- The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) today (Tuesday) welcomed the signing of a reciprocal tariff agreement between Bangladesh and the United States, describing it as a positive development for the country's export-oriented apparel sector.

The agreement was signed following nine months of intensive negotiations between the two countries, BSS reports.

In a press release, BGMEA expressed its sincere gratitude to the Government of the United States and the interim government of Bangladesh for their roles in finalising the deal.
