Dhaka, April 21 -- The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has requested information on the bank accounts of model Meghna Alam.

The BFIU, in a letter issued on Sunday, instructed all the banks to provide information about her personal documents, such as account opening forms, KYC (Know Your Customer) details, and transaction statements.

The financial intelligence agency ordered the banks to submit these details within seven working days.

Meghna, who held the title of Miss Earth Bangladesh in 2020, was taken into custody from her apartment in the Bashundhara Residential Area on April 9.

She was later subjected to a 30-day detention under the Special Powers Act.
