Dhaka, March 12 -- Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mohammad Mahfuj Alam on Wednesday said that Bangladesh Betar [Radio] continues to be one of the major sources of information, education and entertainment for people.
"Betar programmes must be updated according to the needs of the listeners," the adviser said at a meeting with its officials in Agargaon, UNB reports.
Regarding the preservation of old programmes, he highlighted the necessity of digitally archiving those in a catalogue format and emphasised the need for rebroadcasting them. "Old programmes should also be rebroadcast considering the needs of listeners."
