Dhaka, July 16 -- A police vehicle has been torched and vandalised in Gopalganj Sadar Upazila ahead of the National Citizen Party (NCP) central July procession programme.

Police have blamed the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) for the incident.

The incident occurred in Gopalganj Sadar's Ulpur area on Wednesday morning, said Mir Md Sajedur Rahman, chief of Gopalganj Sadar Upazila.

The NCP has been conducting a "July Procession to Build a Country" since the first day of July. The party has conducted programmes in several districts across the country.
