Dhaka, Aug. 31 -- A scheduled meeting of Exim Bank's board of directors has been called off after Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur fell ill.
The central bank had planned to meet with five banks as part of its ongoing efforts to merge them into a single Islami bank.
The first meeting was to be held between the governor and Exim Bank on Sunday, reports BSS.
Although the chairman and directors of Exim Bank arrived at the central bank for the meeting, it did not take place as Ahsan was unable to attend.
"Governor sir is ill, so he did not come to the Bangladesh Bank today. There was no meeting today," Exim Bank Chairman Nazrul Islam Swapan told bdnews24.com.
