Dhaka, Nov. 24 -- Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur said the country is expected to fully implement interoperability across its payment ecosystem by July 2027.
To reach this milestone and move toward a cashless or less-cash society, the central bank has signed a digital agreement with the Gates Foundation to develop the required digital ecosystem.
The BB governor announced this at a knowledge-sharing meeting titled "Instant Payments in Bangladesh: Unveiling Inclusion Opportunities," jointly organised by BB and the Gates Foundation at a city hotel on Monday.
