Dhaka, Feb. 11 -- Bangladesh sent 3.9 million (39,78,562) workers abroad in the last five years (2020-2024), according to the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET).

Among them, 3.2 million (32,08,088) people headed to the Middle East countries in search of jobs, reports a local media citing the BMET.

Of them, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosts most of the Bangladeshi migrant workers. A total of 2.35 million (23,58,095) people were migrated there in the last five years.

During this period, Bangladesh sent a total of 169,968 workers to Qatar, 93,684 people to Kuwait, 201,702 people to the United Arab Emirates, 384,616 workers to Oman, and 23 people to Bahrain.
