Dhaka, Feb. 17 -- Bangladesh needs to open up its markets to ensure enhanced foreign direct investment (FDI), said European Union (EU) Ambassador Michael Miller on Monday.

He also made it clear that in order to sustain duty free facilities like GSP plus, Bangladesh must comply with EU labour rights and environment norms.

The EU envoy was addressing a seminar on EU-Bangladesh ties organised by the Cosmos Foundation.
