Dhaka, June 8 -- Animal sacrifice continued across various parts of the capital on the second day of Eid. As per Islamic rules, Qurbani (sacrificial slaughter) is permissible on the following two days of Eid.
Many city dwellers choose to perform the ritual on the second day due to a shortage of professional butchers on the first day of Eid.
From Sunday morning (June 8), residents in different areas of Dhaka were seen engaging in Qurbani.
City dwellers noted that the lack of professional butchers and the overcrowding and hassle of Eid day prompted them to delay the sacrifice until the second day.
