Dhaka, Dec. 13 -- Students across Bangladesh will receive new textbooks on Jan 1, Primary and Mass Education Advisor Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar has said.
He confirmed the development on Saturday after attending a ceremony at the National Academy for Primary Education (NEP) in Mymensingh, bdnews24.com reports.
"We will ensure students have the new books in their hands on the 1st of January. Since primary schools serve as polling centres during elections, preparations have been made to prevent any incidents of books being destroyed," he added.
The advisor highlighted the recently launched Diploma in Primary Education (DPEd) course for aspiring teachers, noting that it was introduced before they formally become educators.
