Dhaka, Dec. 10 -- Two Interim Government Advisors are expected to step down today ahead of the announcement of the election schedule.

Information and Broadcasting Advisor Mahfuz Alam and Local Government Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan are set to resign today, according to senior government sources

The two student representatives on the interim government's advisory council notified officials of their decision on Tuesday.

The move comes as the Election Commission prepares to unveil the schedule for the 13th National Parliament election, expected either Wednesday evening or Thursday.

Officials say both advisors intend to step down before the announcement. No officials declined to comment on the matter.
