Dhaka, Sept. 3 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an investigation into the looting of white stones and related financial corruption in Sylhet's Bholaganj area.
The move came after initial evidence was found against at least 42 politicians and government officials.
On Wednesday, ACC Director General Md Akhter Hossain confirmed the matter.
He says that as primary evidence of corruption was found during raids, the commission decided to begin a full investigation.
According to ACC sources, the decision was taken in a commission meeting held on Tuesday after the Sylhet office reported its findings.
