Dhaka, April 6 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started an investigation into the alleged irregularities and corruption committed by cricketer Shakib Al Hasan.

ACC chairman Mohammad Abdul Momen confirmed the matter to the media today (Sunday).

Shakib, the former Awami League MP, has been accused of involvement in a stock market scandal, illegal gambling businesses and gambling establishments, gold smuggling, embezzling money from crab traders through fraud, corruption in cricket, and concealing asset information in his election affidavit.
