Dhaka, Jan. 28 -- The International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) in Dhaka has concluded the trial proceedings in a crimes against humanity case filed over the killing of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) student Abu Sayed during the July-August 2024 mass uprising.

The tribunal has set the case for verdict, which may be delivered any day.

A two-member bench of ICT-2 passed the order on Tuesday following the conclusion of arguments and counterarguments by the prosecution and the defence.

The tribunal had framed charges against 30 individuals, including former Begum Rokeya University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Hasibur Rashid.

Among the accused, 24 remain absconding, including the former VC.
