Dhaka, March 9 -- Fifty-three persons who sustained injuries during student-led mass uprising last year were given financial assistance of Tk one lakh each.

Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter handed over the cheques of financial support at a function organized by July Shaheed Smrity Foundation at Khulna Shilpokola Academy on Friday, reports BSS.

Address the occasion, Farida Akhter said the Interim government is committed to provide financial support and treatment to the injured persons of July movement as long as it's required.

She urged all to build social resistance against all violence and repression against women saying students should come forward to prevent such social curse from the country.
