Dhaka, Feb. 5 -- A total of 387 July warriors have been upgraded to the 'A' category from their previous 'B' and 'C' categories, while 474 warriors have been promoted from 'C' to 'B'.

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issued a notification revising the categories on February 1, which was officially published in the government gazette on February 3, according to a UNB report Thursday.

The government granted July warrior status to individuals injured during the movement that toppled the Awami League government on August 5, 2024.

Those who were severely injured are classified under the 'A' category, the seriously injured under 'B', and others under 'C'.
