Dhaka, May 17 -- As many as 200 people have been arrested on different charges during the joint force drive across the country in the last seven days.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) provided the information in a statement issued on Friday.

Bangladesh Army, in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, conducted the drive from May 8 to 14 to maintain law and order.

The arrestees were murder suspects, illegal arms holders, listed criminals, smugglers, members of juvenile gangs, illegal sand extractors, tree cutters, drug dealers and addicts and brokers involved in illicit activities, the release said.
