Dhaka, Oct. 27 -- City University authorities in Savar declared the university closed for four days following a violent clash between the students of the university and Daffodil International University (DIU) on Monday that left 100 people injured.

The students also carried out vandalism at City University during the nine-hour-long clash that started from 6 am and continued till 3 pm on Monday, UNB reports.

Vehicular movement on Mirpur-Birulia and Khagan-Ashulia roads remained suspended during this period, causing suffering to the commuters.

A tense situation has prevailed on both campuses after the clash.

Vice-President of City University Lutfur Rahman said the university was declared closed for four days.
