Dhaka, June 29 -- Thirteen senior police officers have been suspended from service for remaining absent from their workplaces for extended periods.

Separate notifications were recently issued by the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry regarding the suspensions, UNB reports.

During their suspension period, they will be entitled to subsistence allowance. The orders were issued in the public interest, the notification added.

Among the suspended officers are three Superintendents of Police (SP), eight Additional Superintendents of Police, and two Assistant Superintendents of Police. It is understood that they have not returned to work after the political changeover of August 5, last year.
