Dhaka, Aug. 6 -- In another major shake-up of the police ranks, the interim government has assigned 76 sidelined officials, including 10 deputy inspectors general (DIG), to new posts a little under a year after coming to power.
The Ministry of Home Affairs announced the development on Sunday, reports bdnews24.com.
The reshuffled group includes 46 additional DIGs, 12 officers who were promoted from superintendent of police (SP) to supernumerary additional DIG, and seven other officials holding SP-level ranks.
Most of these officials were serving in various units under the previous administration and were assigned as officers on special duty (OSD) following the change in government in August last year.
