Dhaka, May 30 -- Adoption of advanced technological knowhow is crucial for production in major sectors like garments, leather, footwear, plastics, and light engineering, as it can strengthen Bangladesh's position in the global market, speakers said on Thursday.

They also called for better information resources for ensuring greater interactions between buyers and sellers and upgrading workers' technical skills to help compete with the global market.

Experts and industry insiders made the observations at an official launching ceremony of the 'Market Intelligence Platform' (MIP) at a city hotel, LightCastle Partners said in a press statement.
