Dhaka, Feb. 3 -- The planning ministry has asked the ministries and divisions concerned to take effective measures to implement various development projects, including the foreign-aided ones, with a view to ensuring the country's sustainable development.

Planning Secretary Iqbal Abdullah Harun wrote this in semi-government letters sent to the secretaries concerned on January 26.

In November last year, the planning adviser instructed top officials of the ministries and divisions to increase their annual development programme (ADP) implementation rates.

The total ADP size in the current financial year is more than Tk 2.65 trillion. The actual spending against the ADP target is being reviewed in the revised budget.
