Hyderabad, Dec. 27 -- Indian Ice Cream Manufacturers Association (IICMA), a professional non-profit organization to ensure the future success of the ice cream and frozen desserts industry in the country, has appealed on allowing import of skimmed milk powder (SMP), whole milk powder (WMP), butter and butter oil (fat) under duty-free scheme.
Stating that non-availability of the stock was going to affect the whole ice cream and frozen dessert industry in the country, the association said the higher rate of GST (i.e. 18%) had already forced many small and medium scale ice cream manufacturers to close down their production units according to the reports published in telanganatoday.com.
