Dhaka, Nov. 4 -- Turkish Airlines resumed direct flights on Monday (Nov. 4) between Istanbul and the northern Iraqi city of Sulaymaniyah, restoring a key route that had been suspended since April 2023.
The restart expands the carrier's network in Iraq to six destinations - Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, Kirkuk, Najaf and Sulaymaniyah - the airline said in a statement.
Flights will operate four times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, with plans to increase to daily services under the 2026 summer schedule beginning March 27, 2026.
