Dhaka, Dec. 27 -- Airlines across the United States have canceled more than 1,500 flights on Dec. 26 and 27 due to Winter Storm Devin, which is forecast to bring heavy snow and freezing rain to the Northeastern region.
New York's three major airports were the worst affected.
At John F. Kennedy International Airport, 34pc of inbound and 23pc of outbound flights were canceled, while LaGuardia saw 35pc of inbound and 20pc of outbound flights canceled.
Newark Liberty International reported cancellations of 25pc inbound and 18pc outbound.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) warned of potential ground stops at JFK and LaGuardia until 9:00 p.m., after which all inbound flights would be suspended.
