, Feb. 3 -- The Fuel Division of Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom has delivered nuclear fuel for the initial core loading of the VVER-1200 reactor at Unit 7 of the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) in China.
The shipment includes the initial core load and several reserve fuel assemblies. The fuel was manufactured at the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant in Russia and delivered under a contract covering fuel supply for Units 7 and 8 of the Tianwan NPP. Both units are currently under construction and are based on Russian-designed Generation III+ VVER-1200 reactors.
This marks Rosatom's first experience supplying nuclear fuel for VVER-1200 reactors to China. Previously, Rosatom supplied fuel only for four operating VV...
