Rangamati, Feb. 26 -- The Rangamati district administration has lifted the tourism ban in Sajek Valley, a day after a massive fire destroyed nearly 100 resorts, restaurants, and houses in the popular tourist spot in Baghaichhari upazila.

Shirin Akter, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Baghaichhari, said the restriction which was imposed after the fire incident, was lifted on Tuesday (Feb 25) afternoon.

Earlier on Monday (Feb 24), the local administration in Rangamati discouraged tourists from visiting the fire-ravaged Sajek Valley for safety reasons.

The decision was taken temporarily to ensure tourists' safety following the devastating fire, said UNO.
