Dhaka, Dec. 11 -- Etihad Airways has cancelled its flights from Abu Dhabi to Lisbon on December 11, citing a national strike in Portugal that is disrupting air travel and other services.

Flight EY099 from Abu Dhabi to Lisbon and return service EY100 were affected by the industrial action, which involves major unions protesting proposed labour reforms.

Speaking in a statement, Etihad urged passengers booked onto the flights to check their contact details are up to date on their website, so officials can contact them about the latest flight information.

Elsewhere in the UAE, Emirates has cancelled its twice-daily route to and from Lisbon on Thursday (December 11), due to nationwide industrial action in Portugal.
